How to show bank transfer first for wholesale customers on Shopify

Short answer: Move the bank transfer payment method to the top of the list for customers tagged wholesale. In Checkpost, choose “Show bank transfer first for wholesale” from Templates, adjust the values, test it, then save and enable the rule.

The problem

Wholesale buyers usually pay large orders by bank transfer, but checkout lists cards and wallets first. Putting the method they expect at the top saves a scroll and reduces card fees on big orders.

How to set it up

1. Install Checkpost from the Shopify App Store.
2. Open Templates and choose Show bank transfer first for wholesale.
3. Set your wholesale tag and the exact name of your manual payment method.
4. Use Try this rule to test a sample cart, then click Save rule.

Show payment methods containing "Bank Deposit" first when all of these conditions is true:

• Customer has any of tags wholesale

Shoppers see no message: the methods are changed before checkout shows them.

Where this rule works

This changes matching payment methods that Shopify exposes to the customization. Payment rules do not have the same express-checkout coverage as cart validation. Tips

• Use the exact name of your manual payment method, such as "Bank Deposit" or "Wire transfer".
• Swap the tag condition for "Customer is a B2B company buyer" if you use Shopify B2B.

FAQ

Does it remove card payments?

No. The bank transfer method just moves to the top. Add a separate hide rule if you also want to remove other methods.

Can I rename the method for wholesale customers?

Yes. Switch the rule to Rename and enter the name to show, such as "Bank transfer (net 30 invoice)".
