How to hide same-day delivery after a cutoff time on Shopify

Short answer: Hide same-day and express options after your daily cutoff (14:00 in your store's timezone) so shoppers only see rates you can still meet. In Checkpost, choose “Same-day delivery cutoff” from Templates, adjust the values, test it, then save and enable the rule.

The problem

Same-day delivery only works if the order arrives before your last dispatch. Shoppers who pay for it at 16:00 and get it tomorrow ask for refunds.

How to set it up

  1. Install Checkpost from the Shopify App Store.
  2. Open Templates and choose Same-day delivery cutoff.
  3. Set your cutoff time and the names of your same-day rates.
  4. Use Try this rule to test a sample cart, then click Save rule.

The rule

Hide delivery methods containing "Same-day" or "Express" when all of these conditions is true:

Shoppers see no message: the methods are changed before checkout shows them.

Where this rule works

This changes existing delivery options; it does not create rates, change their prices or configure pickup. Address conditions are evaluated for each delivery group's own address. Product-tag conditions inspect the whole cart. Verify that an eligible delivery option remains.

Your store's timezone from Settings → General, whatever timezone the shopper is in.

Does it come back the next morning?

Yes. From midnight the time is before the cutoff again, so the rates show.
